A star in making : Anurag Anand

There are very few people in this universe who has got tremendous success in their very early age. Anurag Anand who hails from Hazaribag, Jharkhand is one of them. He is just 24. Anand started his career as a fixer then journalist with international media giants like National Geographic Channel and BBC is now producing mega documentaries for them. Two of his documentaries which aired last month was based on the the life of the people living near the coal mines in Jharkhand & Chattisgarh.
First, Women of the mines, which is based on the life of Women's who works in the coal mines got aired in Sky TV USA last month and his next documentary Coal Insurgency in India is focused on the  infamous naxal and coal connection in India, will be aired at National Geographic Channel in December 2014.
He says while filming these two documentaries, his main challenge was to convince people that he is from media, not a government man.  Setting up the communication with the bootleg mines who were illiterate and can harm you anytime, was the biggest risk. But he succeeded convincing people and his next film completed suscessfully and ready to get aired on National Geographic.
Anand says he loves making documentaries on hard core issues. His next project titled Be a Rebel is based on the story of the rise of insurgent groups in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in India. This project has been commisioned by BBC and the principal photography is starting very soon.
Anurag is now based in London, exploring and enhancing his filmmaking skill.
He has done his schooling from DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL, Hazaribag and is a Computer Graduate from SRM University, Chennai.
